Restore & Retreat Berkshire County
Squarehouse was tasked with giving this modern gem a comprehensive update. Many of the original 1980’s details remained, presenting the opportunity to reinvent the space to match our client’s modern sensibilities. Situated in Berkshire County of Western Massachusetts, maintaining the property’s natural beauty was an important goal. We kept the interior palette subtle to let the natural colors and sweeping views be the feature presentation. We focused on comfort for relaxing family weekends but also on versatility for our clients' love of entertaining. The basement features a custom theater that seriously upgrades the home movie experience paired with an out-of-the-box powder room.
Once a garage and storage structure, the Guest House was redesigned from the ground up. It was transformed into a comfortable and cozy space for visiting families and slumber parties. The multiple exterior patios make for great lounging and entertaining – another spot where gathering was the driver of the design.
